Batman Begins

So I went to see Batman Begins. Sombody forgot to tell these guys they were making a summer, action-adventure, comic book, super hero movie.

Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Rutger Hauer, Morgan Freeman were all excellent. No wink-wink at the camera crap.

Katie Holmes was ok but forgettable.

Go see it! It was fun!

The Dark Truth About Squirrels

Sunday, June 12, 2005

I stumbled on this quote today:

"You need only do three things in this country to avoid poverty - finish high school,
marry before having a child, and marry after the age of 20. Only 8 percent of the families who do this are poor; 79 percent of those who fail to do this are poor."

--President Bill Clinton

Books on MP3

So I went to the library last week in search of another pile of books on CD to amuse me during my commute from hell?

I scored the following goodness:

The Hobbit
The Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
The Return of the King

I just finished The Hobbit with the kids. They loved it and now want to hear them all. The problem is they are all due tomorrow. So today I am ingesting them all into my MP3 server. The next stereo I buy for the car will be able to play MP3's.

The Hobbit was on 13 CDs. I am amazed that more books on tape/CD are not done on MP3. It could be delivered on 1 disk in stead of 13. All 4 books will fit on one DVD. So cool.

All would fit on one iPod.

Hmmmmmm....

I am so sore right now.

BR and I finished off the deck today. We were swinging hammers out there in the heat today. It was like 90 degrees. Sweat was dripping off our noses. It came out very nice. We are such a team. We finished it off and then she cut my hair.

I have sat on the sofa for the last 2 hours watching The 4400 as my joints froze up.

Thank the makers we have the hot tub...
